YHA Cotswolds at Cirencester 16th - 20th April Norman Popular newish converted Barrel Store linked to an arts & crafts centre in the town.
Elterwater Lake District Independent 7th - 11th May June Low & high level walking area; (limited) buses other attractions
Swanage YHA 6th - 10th August Norman Jurassic coast, walks and places of interest. Return visit.
Penzance Hostelling & Trail wk beg 3rd September Trevor Please see Trail programme for more details.
Chepstow Greenman Backpackers Hostel 15th - 18th October Kathryn In centre historic mrkt town, newish, good facilities, poss sole use. Walking, bus, train to many places of interest. Likely sole use.
Bristol YHA 19th - 23rd November Stuart Return visit. Many attractions close busy large city centre conversion.

Planning meetings take place on the first Friday of each month (except August) from 11.00. You are all very welcome to come and join us to find out about and help organise our trips. It is envisaged that visits to hostels will be planned for alternate months.

Exeter SW Independent hostel 11th - 15/16th February Hazel Central townhouse hostel. Cathedral city, quayside walks, lots to see and do. Travel by train.
YHA Hawes North Yorkshire 8th - 12th April Lynda Return visit, Sm shops, tea rooms, craft museums, walking. Accessible train, bus.
Whitby N Yorks Probably YHA Whitby 13th - 17th May Angela Fishing town, popular tourists - fish and Whitby jet! Lots attractions, places to eat, walking. Train then bus.
YHA Alnwick Northumberland 17th - 21st June Hadewien Medium hostel in historic town close wild & beautiful coast. Shops, attractions, Hulne Park, castles, walks. Train & bus.
Sheringham YHA Norfolk coast 5th - 9th August June Large hostel close town centre and beach. Lots seaside attractions. Accessible train & bus.
Streatley-on -Thames YHA Chilterns 11th - 15th November Sue Largish hostel close river. Rail station in twin village Goring, trains Reading London. Various attractions, lots walking.


Hostels vary in the facilities offered. Some, like the Stratford-on-Avon one, have a wide range of accommodation including private facilities, bookable at a supplement, but some are more basic.
Stafford U3A now has group membership of the YHA, entitling all Stafford U3A members to stay at any YHA facility worldwide whilst travelling with an organised Stafford U3A group without the need to enrol as individual members.
