Basic Bridge including Bridge for Beginners

The group meets Weekly on Tuesday from 14.00 to 16.00

The name of the group has changed from Beginners' Bridge to reflect how it has developed. This enthusiastic group now contains a range of ability levels. Some have learnt the game from scratch within the group sessions and are now playing confidently. We also have those who come along to brush up their basic skills in a friendly environment where there is always time to discuss difficulties that are encountered in bidding and playing. There is also a group of novice players who are nearing the end of the current beginners' course.

As the new name suggests we all aim to understand and play this fascinating game at a basic level, and play those basics well in a supportive and non-competitive way. There is sometimes more "formal" teaching input, but the emphasis is on playing.

A new course for complete beginners is run from time to time. A new series of lessons will be starting in Autumn 2017.
Complete novices who have never played Bridge before will begin on 19 September. More detailed lessons will begin on 3 October They will proceed at a pace suitable for complete beginners. They are also open to those who would like to refresh their basic skills or who missed parts of a previous course. If you are interested in joining the lessons:
