Several members of the West Midland Bird Club have volunteered to act as guides on our field trips to help locate and identify the birds. In September they found ringed plovers and little ringed plovers together on the shore beside Middleton Lakes. At Doxey there were three species of egret - little egret, a great white egret and a cattle egret. There have been several recent firsts for many of the group, including pied flycatcher, wood warbler, redstart and long eared owl.
The group offers a great opportunity to enhance birdwatching knowledge for both novice and experienced birdwatchers alike. Binoculars are available to borrow if requested prior to a trip.
New members are welcome to join the group, whether experienced or inexperienced bird watchers.
