|The University of the Third Age|
This group aims to help learners who have a beginner's proficiency in Spanish (not complete beginners, however)
and who wish to consolidate this and improve their skills at a gentle pace with frequent opportunity for queries.
We focus very much on speaking and listening skills, and base the classes on the BBC course Talk Spanish 2 but adapted to the needs of older learners. Members will need a copy of this book.
The classes include both functional language to help with travel and personal language to talk about families, likes, ideas and so on. Pronunciation activities are built into each class and BBC and other online materials are used.
The class has members with varied interests in Spain and Latin America, and we are always pleased to hear about their experiences and are happy to use these and any items they bring to class as sources for study.
Members who already attend a more advanced group can switch to this group if they wish.
